Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of auricular acupoint pressing with beans and family rehabilitation training on the seizures and cognitive function of children with epilepsy. Methods:A total of 86 children with epilepsy were treated in the Nanyang Central Hospital from September 2022 to September 2023 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group by random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with auricular acupoint pressing with beans combined with Levetiracetam and family rehabilitation training, and the control group was treated with Levetiracetam and family rehabilitation training. The clinical effects, Activity of Daily Living (ADL), cognitive function indexes, including Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC), Full Intelligence Quotient (FIQ), Verbal Intelligence Quotient (VIQ) and Performance Intelligence Quotient( PIQ),were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 97.67%(42/ 43) in the observation group, higher than that of 81.40%(35/43) in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the ADL scores in both groups were improved when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the ADL score in the observation group was significantly improved when compared with that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the FIQ, VIQ and PIQ scores in both groups were improved when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the improvement of scores in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of auricular acupoint pressing with beans and family rehabilitation training can effectively reduce the number of seizures in children with epilepsy, reduce seizure symptoms and improve cognitive function.
