Clinical Study on Sihuang Powder Hoop Therapy Combined with Manipulation of Promoting Lactation Along Meridians for Acute Mastitis During Lactation Period
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Sihuang Powder hoop therapy combined with manipulation of promoting lactation along meridians on acute mastitis during lactation period. Methods: A total of 126 cases of patients with acute mastitis during lactation period were selected as the research subjects and divided into the combination group , the control group A , and the control group B , with 42 cases in each group, using a random number table method. All the three groups were treated with Cefuroxime. On this basis, the control group A was treated with Sihuang Powder hoop therapy, the control group B was treated with manipulation of promoting lactation along meridians, and the combination group was treated with Sihuang Powder hoop therapy combined with manipulation of promoting lactation along meridians. The followings were compared in the three groups: clinical effect, pain levels, blood routine levels, inflammatory factor levels, and safety. Results: The clinical effect in the combination group was superior to that in the control group A and the control group B (P<0.05). After treatment for one day, three days, and five days, the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores in all the three groups showed a decreasing trend (P<0.05);the VAS score in the combination group was lower than those in the control group A and the control group B at the same time points (P<0.05). After treatment, the white blood cell count and neutrophil percentage in the three groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P< 0.05);the white blood cell count and neutrophil percentage in the combination group were lower than those in the control group A and the control group B (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), and tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α) in serum in the three groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of serum CRP, PCT, and TNF-α in the combination group were lower than those in the control group A and the control group B (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in adverse reactions among the three groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Sihuang Powder hoop therapy combined with manipulation of promoting lactation along meridians has a good therapeutic effect on patients with acute mastitis during lactation period. It can improve blood routine indicators, reduce levels of inflammatory factors, and alleviate pain, with high safety.
