Effect of Directional Penetration of Chinese Medicine Combined with Moxibustion at Shenque Point on Urinary Flow Dynamics of Patients After Electrotomy for Prostatic Hyperplasia
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of directional penetration of Chinese medicine combined with moxibustion at Shenque (RN8) point on urinary flow dynamics of patients after electrotomy for prostatic hyperplasia. Methods: A total of 85 cases of patients after electrotomy for prostatic hyperplasia were selected as the study objects and divided into the observation group (43 cases) and the control group (42 cases) by random number table method. The control group was given moxibustion at Shenque (RN8) point alone, and the observation group was given directional penetration of Chinese medicine combined with moxibustion at Shenque (RN8) point. The urinary flow dynamics, International Prostate Symptom Scores (IPSS), traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the maximum urine flow rate, bladder compliance, maximum detrusor pressure and strong urine volume in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the remaining urine volume was reduced when compared with that before treatment (P<0.05); the maximum urine flow rate, bladder compliance, maximum detrusor pressure and strong urine volume in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05),and the remaining urine volume was less than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, IPSS scores and the TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the incidence of complications was 4.65% in the observation group and 21.43% in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The directional penetration of Chinese medicine combined with moxibustion at Shenque (RN8) point for patients after electrotomy for prostatic hyperplasia can effectively improve their urinary flow dynamics and clinical symptoms and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications, whose curative effect is better than that of simple treatment of moxibustion at Shenque (RN8) point.
