Abstract： This article introduces Professor ZHANG Meifang's clinical experience in treating dry eyes with the spleen-regulating method. Professor ZHANG Meifang believes that the disease location of dry eyes lies in the eyes and is closely related to the spleen. Clinically， the disease can be divided into three types，namely the spleen qi deficiency type，the spleen deficiency with damp-heat type，and the spleenkidney depletion type；the treatment methods include strengthening the spleen and boosting qi，fortifying the spleen，clearing heat and draining dampness，and supplementing the spleen and kidney. To strengthen the spleen and boost qi，it is recommended to use modified Sijunzi Decoction with the additional application of eye-improving Chinese medicinals such as Buddlejae Flos and Lycii Fructus based on syndrome differentiation；to fortify the spleen，clear heat and drain dampness，modified Sanren Decoction is often used as the basic formula with the additional application of eye-improving Chinese medicinals such as Prunellae Spica and Buddlejae Flos based on syndrome differentiation； to supplement the spleen and kidney，the first step is to fortify the spleen and then use modified self-made Yiyanming Prescription.
