Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of point application of Shenque point (RN8) combined with Chinese massage on gastrointestinal function, fecal traits and trait anxiety in patients with post-stroke constipation. Methods:A total of 155 patients with post-stroke constipation were selected and divided into the routine group (79 cases) and the trial group (76 cases) according to different nursing methods. The routine group was given routine neurosurgical nursing, and the trial group was given point application of Shenque point (RN8) combined with Chinese massage on the basis of routine nursing. Gastrointestinal function [Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS)], fecal traits [Bristol Stool Form Scale (BSFS)], trait anxiety [State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (ST-AI)], quality of life [Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life (PAC-QOL)] and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the GSRS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the GSRS score in the trial group was lower than that in the routine group (P< 0.05);the BSFS scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P< 0.05),and the BSFS score in the trial group was higher than that in the routine group (P<0.05);the S-AI and T-AI scores and the total scores in both groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the S-AI,T-AI scores and the total score in the trial group were lower than those in the routine group (P<0.05);the scores of physical function, psychosocial discomfort, negative emotion and satisfaction in PAC-QOL scale in both groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the scores of PAC-QOL scale in the trial group were all lower than those in the routine group (P<0.05). After treatment, the nursing satisfaction was 93.42% in the trial group and 82.28% in the routine group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of point application of Shenque point (RN8) combined with Chinese massage can improve gastrointestinal function, fecal traits and trait anxiety in patients with post-stroke constipation, and improve their quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
