Effect of Warm-Needle Moxibustion Combined with Mindfulness Decompression Therapy on Psychological Status and Prognosis of Patients with Acute Pancreatitis
Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of warm-needle moxibustion combined with mindfulness decompression therapy on the psychological status and prognosis of patients with acute pancreatitis (AP). Methods: A total of 70 AP patients were selected and divided into the control group and the combination group according to the random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. Both groups received routine intervention;the control group received mindfulness decompression therapy on this basis, and the combination group received warm-needle moxibustion on the basis of the control group. The changes in the scores of Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item (GAD-7), Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Self Rated Abilities for Health Practices Scale (SRAHP), Gastrointestinal Quality of Life index (GIQLI), Visual Analogue Scale (VAS),and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II),as well as the levels of serum C-reactive protein (CRP),tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α),serum amylase (AMS),and lipase (LPS) were compared before and after treatment in the two groups. The gastrointestinal recovery and six-month readmission rates after discharge were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the GAD-7 and PHQ-9 scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the GAD-7 and PHQ-9 scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the VAS and APACHE Ⅱ scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the VAS and APACHEⅡ scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the SRAHP and GIQLI scores in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the SRAHP and GIQLI scores in the combination group were higher than those in the control group (P< 0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of CRP,TNF-α,AMS,and LPS in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the combination group had lower levels of CRP, TNF- α, AMS, and LPS than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the recovery time of bowel sounds, initial anal exhaust time, initial defecation time, and hospitalization time in the combination group were all shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). The readmission rate at six months after discharge in the combination group was 2.86%,and 8.57% in the control group;there was no significant difference in readmission rates between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Warm-needle moxibustion combined with mindfulness decompression therapy can effectively improve the psychological status and clinical symptoms of AP patients, inhibit inflammatory reactions, promote gastrointestinal recovery, and help improve the quality of life of patients.
