Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture combined with Mulligan joint loosening therapy for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR). Methods: A total of 120 cases of patients with CSR were divided into the control group A,the control group B and the observation group according to the method of random sampling, with 40 cases in each group. The control group A was given electroacupuncture treatment, the control group B was given Mulligan joint loosening therapy, and the observation group was given electroacupuncture combined with Mulligan joint loosening therapy. After four weeks of treatment, the therapeutic effect was evaluated;the changes of range of motion (ROM) of joint, neck electromyographic signal,Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Activity Of Daily Living (ADL) scores were compared between the three groups. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group was higher than those in the control group A and the control group B (P<0.05); the total effective rate in the control group B was higher than that in the control group A (P<0.05). After treatment, the forward, backward, left, right, left and right rotation angles in the observation group were greater than those in the other two groups (P<0.05);the above angles in the control group B were greater than those in the control group A (P<0.05). After treatment, the average electromyography in the observation group was lower than those in the control group A and the control group B (P<0.05), and the average electromyography in the control group B was lower than that in the control group A (P<0.05);the median frequency of electromyography in the observation group was lower than those in the control group A and the control group B (P<0.05),and the median frequency of electromyography in the control group B was higher than that in the control group A (P<0.05). After treatment,VAS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group A and the control group B (P<0.05);the VAS score in the control group B was lower than that in the control group A (P<0.05). After treatment, the ADL score in the observation group was higher than those in the other two groups (P<0.05);the ADL score in the control group B was higher than that in the control group A (P<0.05). Conclusion:Electroacupuncture combined with Mulligan joint loosening therapy has a significant clinical effect in the treatment of CSR, which can effectively alleviate pain, enhance joint movement function, improve neck electromyographic signal and increase activity of daily living.
