Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinical application rules of Shuigou (DU26) point in ancient Chinese medicine books and documents based on data mining. Methods:A total of 1 156 ancient books included in the Chinese Medical Canon were selected as the search scope;prescriptions were screened according to the exclusion criteria and a database was established. Microsoft Excel 2019 and RStudio 4.3.2 software were used to conduct descriptive analysis and association rule analysis on the scope of indications, compatibility of acupoints and treatment methods of Shuigou (DU26) point. Results: A total of 193 books and documents were finally included in this study,involving 93 ancient books. The main diseases treated by acupuncture at Shuigou (DU26) point were cerebral diseases in internal medicine and otorhinolaryngological diseases. There were 18 kinds of dominant diseases treated by acupuncture at the single point,including eclampsia, attack of noxious factor, edema, wasting-thirst, deviation of the mouth, stroke, fainting, exfoliative cheilitis,sudden joy and sudden crying,headache,panting syndrome,inability to see,manicdepressive psychosis, acute infantile convulsion, sudden death, sudden chest or abdominal colic or bleeding, and low back pain and jaundice. There were 17 kinds of dominant diseases treated by acupuncture at Shuigou (DU26) point which was compatible with other points, including stroke, manicdepressive psychosis, low back pain, edema, deviation of the mouth, acute infantile convulsion, fainting,allergic rhinitis,nosebleed,attack of noxious factor,sudden fainting,sinusitis,chronic infantile convulsion , sudden death , aphtha , dysentery with inability to eat and nasal polyp. There were 159 compatible points, including points on fourteen channels and extra points; there were 42 highfrequency points, among which the highest frequency was Hegu (LI4) point; in terms of channel entry, governor vessel dominated , and the dominate specific points were five transport points. A total of 50 association rules were selected. The treatment methods of using Shuigou (DU26) point included acupuncture, moxibustion, point bloodletting, fire needling, pinching (cutting), twisting (kneading) and external treatment,etc. The dominate was acupuncture and moxibustion therapy,in which the needle was commonly inserted 30% and retained for six breathes,and three moxa sticks (as big as bird dung or wheat), and the method of draining and discharging were applied. Conclusion:This study comprehensively shows the indications of diseases, compatibility of acupoints and clinical operation of Shuigou (DU26) point in ancient clinical application, which can provide reference for modern clinical application and scientific research.
