Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of the combination use of Bupi Shugan Decoction and sound therapy on chronic tinnitus complicated with anxiety. Methods： A total of 64 patients with chronic tinnitus of liver constraint and spleen deficiency type were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 32 cases in each group. The control group was treated with sound therapy，and the treatment group was additionally treated with Bupi Shugan Decoction in addition to the sound therapy. The changes of scores of Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI)， Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment， and the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the scores of THI， VAS and SAS in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the above three scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were dwindled when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 78.13% in the treatment group and 53.13% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion：The combination use of Bupi Shugan Decoction and sound therapy has a good curative effect on chronic tinnitus， which can reduce the symptoms of tinnitus，relieve the anxiety and improve the quality of life.
