Abstract：Objective：To discuss the medication rules of Chinese patent medicines of boosting qi and nourishing yin type in the treatment of diabetes mellitus based on data mining. Methods： Chinese patent medicines of boosting qi and nourishing yin type for diabetes mellitus were screened out from the National Reimbursement Drug List 2020， Pharmacopoeia of People's Republic of China 2020，the National List of Essential Medicines 2018， and relevant diabetes prevention and control guidelines； the use frequency， nature， flavors， meridian entries， association rules， clustering and complex networks of these Chinese patent medicines were analyzed by the Ancient and Modern Medical Record Cloud Platform. Results： A total of 38 Chinese patent medicines of boosting qi and nourishing yin type were included ， involving 92 Chinese medicinals. The high-frequency medicinals for treating diabetes mellitus included Astragali Radix， Rehmanniae Radix， and Trichosanthis Radix， whose nature and flavors mainly were sweet and (mild) cold，with the meridian entries of the lung and kidney meridians. The commonly used combinations of Chinese patent medicines of boosting qi and nourishing yin type in the treatment of diabetes mellitus were Rehmanniae Radix-Ophiopogonis Radix， Ophiopogonis Radix-Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus， and Puerariae Lobatae Radix-Astragali Radix. Cluster analysis found six new prescriptions， namely Lycii Fructus-Galla Chinensis-Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma-Anemarrhenae Rhizoma-Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma-Trichosanthis Radix-Astragali Radix-Rehmanniae Radix-Puerariae Lobatae Radix-Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus-Ophiopogonis Radix，Moutan Cortex-Ligustri Lucidi Fructus-Dioscoreae Rhizoma-Corni Fructus-Poria-Alismatis Rhizoma， Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma-Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix-Gypsum Fibrosum-Scrophulariae Radix-Codonopsis Radix， Coptidis Rhizoma-Atractylodis Rhizoma-Polygonati Rhizoma-Litchi Semen，Hirudo-Pseudostellariae Radix，and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma-Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma Rubra. Complex network analysis found the core Chinese medicinal combinations of Astragali Radix，Rehmanniae Radix，and Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus. Conclusion：In the treatment of diabetes mellitus， the core medicinals of Chinese patent medicines of boosting qi and nourishing yin type are Astragali Radix，Rehmanniae Radix，and Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus. The medication mainly consisted medicinals that boost qi and nourish yin， usually combined with medicinals that clear heat and activate blood， to treat diabetes nephropathy， diabetes retinopathy and other complications. In clinical practice， Xiaoke Fang， Jinlida， Keluoxin， and other Chinese patent medicines are often used for symptomatic treatment.
