Abstract：Based on the theory of circular motion，Professor YE Liqun believes that the dysmenorrhea caused by adenomyosis is related to the abnormal circular motion of the five viscera and the obstruction of qi and blood circulation. The pathogenesis can be summarized in three aspects： first， the liver wood is depressed on the left，the rise and fall are out of control，and the wheel does not turn outward. Second， the middle earth loses its movement， the rise and fall are blocked， and the axis does not rotate inward. Third，the kidney water is not nourished，the water is cold and the soil is damp，the wheel is chaotic and the axis stops. Professor YE，combining the characteristics of the pathogenesis of dysmenorrhea caused by adenomyosis and the changes in the growth and decline of qi， blood， yin and yang during the menstrual cycle，takes the five viscera as a whole，applies the theory of circular motion of rising，falling，floating and sinking， aims to promote the rise and fall of qi movement and the circulation of qi and blood， eliminate concretions and remove accumulation， dissolve stasis and relieve pain； she prescribes Antong Zhuyu Decoction and Antong Xiaozheng Decoction，alternately uses them flexibly in different stages of disease， prescribes medicine precisely，and applies the method of restoring the operation of the wheel and the axis， to achieve the "restoration of the circle"， smooth the qi and blood circulation， dissolve the blood stasis， eliminate the concretions and conglomerations and alleviate the pain.
