Abstract：Objective：Motor aphasia，one of the common dysfunctions after stroke，seriously affects the physical and mental health of patients and aggravates the burden of a family and the society. Tongue acupuncture is a special needling method for treating corresponding diseases by inserting fine needles at specific acupoints on the tongue. The study found that tongue acupuncture not only can restore the motor function of the tongue，but also improve the brain function through circulation and nervous regulation，thus promoting the recovery of speech function. It is clinically found that tongue acupuncture therapy alone use had a great curative effect on post-stroke motor aphasia；the combination use of tongue acupuncture and speech rehabilitation training， scalp acupuncture and other treatment methods can enhance the curative effect on post-stroke motor aphasia. The authors systematically summarized the research contents of mechanism and clinical application of tongue acupuncture in treating post-stroke motor aphasia so as to provide more reference for tongue acupuncture in the treatment of motor aphasia.
