Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Yupingfeng Granules combined with western medicine on symptomatic treatment of bronchial asthma and its effect on lung function and serum inflammatory factors. Methods： A total of 104 patients with bronchial asthma were randomly divided into the reference group and the combination group， with 52 cases each， using a random number table method. The reference group received symptomatic treatment with western medicine， and the combination group received treatment with Yupingfeng Granules on the basis of symptomatic treatment with western medicine. Compared the clinical effects of the two groups， and compared the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores， lung function， and serum inflammatory factors before and after treatment between the two groups. Results：The total clinical effective rate was 94.23% in the combination group，which was higher than that of 78.85% in the reference group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes such as wheezing， fatigue and lack of strength， yellowish complexion，bloating and fullness in the epigastric region，fear of wind due to sweating，and poor appetite and loose stools in both groups were decreased (P＜0.05)，and the scores in the combination group were lower than those in the reference group (P＜0.05). After treatment， the first second forced expiratory volume (FEV1)， forced vital capacity (FVC)， and peak respiratory flow rate (PEF) in both groups were increased (P＜0.05)， and the indexes in the combination group were higher than those in the reference group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of serum interleukin-6 (IL-6)，C-reactive protein (CRP)，and eosinophils (EOS) were decreased in the two groups (P＜0.05)， and the levels in the combination group were lower than those in the reference group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： The combination of Yupingfeng Granules and western medicine has a remarkable therapeutic effect on patients with bronchial asthma， which can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms， improve lung function， and alleviate inflammatory reactions in the body.
