Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of thumbtack needle combined with Flunarizine Capsules on vestibular migraine. Methods:The 62 patients with vestibular migraine were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 31 cases in each group. The control group was given oral treatment with Flunarizine Capsules, and the observation group was additionally given the therapy of thumbtack needle based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects, frequency of vertigo, duration of vertigo, Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) Scale and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) of headache were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:The total curative efficiency of the observation group was 93.55%,higher than the 80.65% of the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After two weeks and four weeks of treatment, the DHI and headache VAS score of the two groups were decreased compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the scores of observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After four weeks of treatment, the frequency of vertigo in the two groups was decreased when compared with that before treatment (P<0.05), and the duration of vertigo was shortened (P<0.05); the frequency and duration of vertigo in the observation group were lower than those of control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of thumbtack needle combined with Flunarizine Capsules has a definite therapeutic effect on vestibular migraine, which can relieve headache symptoms, reduce the frequency of vertigo and shorten the duration of vertigo.
