Effects of Modified Banxia Xiexin Decoction Combined with Quadruple Therapy on Oxidative Stress, Serum miR-155 and sIL-2R in Patients with Helicobacter Pylori- Associated Gastritis
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effects of modified Banxia Xiexin Decoction combined with quadruple therapy on oxidative stress,serum microRNA-155 (miR-155) and soluble interleukin-2 receptor (sIL-2R) in patients with Helicobacter pylori (Hp) -associated gastritis. Methods: A total of 94 cases of patients with Hp-associated gastritis were selected and divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method,with 47 cases in each group. The control group was treated with quadruple therapy,and the study group was treated with quadruple therapy combined with modified Banxia Xiexin Decoction. The clinical effects, Hp negative rates and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups;traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,oxidative stress index values [nitric oxide (NO), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD)], serum miR-155 and sIL-2R levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate was 91.49% in the study group and 74.47% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment,and the TCM syndrome score in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the values of NO and MDA in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the values of SOD were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); the indexes of NO and MDA in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the SOD index in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the relative expressions of serum miR-155 and the levels of sIL-2R in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment (P< 0.05),and the relative expression of serum miR-155 and the level of sIL-2R in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The Hp negative rate was 87.23% in the study group and 68.09% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 6.38% in the study group and 8.51% in the control group,there being no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Modified Banxia Xiexin Decoction combined with quadruple therapy for Hp-associated gastritis can effectively relieve the symptoms, alleviate stress responses and improve Hp negative rate and clinical effects,with high safety.
