Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Qingfei Zhike Huatan Decoction combined with western medicine on children with mycoplasma pneumonia of phlegm-heat obstructing the lung type. Methods: A total of 104 cases of children with mycoplasma pneumonia of phlegm-heat obstructing the lung type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,with 52 cases in each group. The control group was given western medicine treatment,and the observation group was given Qingfei Zhike Huatan Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for seven days. The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndrome scores and the levels of serum inflammatory indexes before and after treatment as well as the clinical effects and the disappearance time of clinical symptoms were compared between the two groups. Results: After seven days of treatment, the total effective rate was 96.15% in the observation group, higher than that of 84.62% in the control group (P<0.05). The disappearance time of fever, dyspnea, moist rales and cough in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). After seven days of treatment, the scores of fever, phlegm, and cough in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above three TCM syndrome scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After seven days of treatment,the levels of serum soluble interleukin-2 receptor (SIL-2R) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the levels of SIL-2R and IL-6 in serum in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Qingfei Zhike Huatan Decoction combined with western medicine can rapidly and effectively relieve the clinical symptoms and reduce the levels of inflammatory indexes in children with mycoplasma pneumonitis of phlegm-heat obstructing the lung type.
