Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of JI's Compound Portulacae Herbal Solution for prevention of incision infection after mixed hemorrhoid surgery. Methods: A total of 60 cases of mixed hemorrhoid patients with traditional Chinese medicine syndrome types of damp-heat pouring downward or qi stagnation and blood stasis were selected and divided into the control group and the trial group according to the random number table method,with 30 cases in each group. The control group received the retention enema with 0.5% Metronidazole Sodium Chloride Injection, and the trial group was given the retention enema with JI's Compound Portulacae Herbal Solution. Postoperative body temperature,signs of surgical incision infection, serum interleukin-10 (IL-10) levels, and clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results:The postoperative clinical effective rates in the two groups were 100%. There was no significant difference in body temperature at 2, 3, and 4 days after the surgery between the two groups (P>0.05),and both groups had normal body temperature and did not have a fever above 37 ℃. After the surgery,there were no signs of infection such as redness,swelling,heat,pain,or purulent secretions in the two groups. During the first three days after the surgery,the average level of IL-10 was (1.32± 1.30)pg/mL in the trial group and (1.45±1.65)pg/mL in the control group, there being no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: JI's Compound Portulacae Herbal Solution and 0.5% Metronidazole Sodium Chloride Injection have a certain curative effect and similar effects in preventing postoperative infection of mixed hemorrhoids. Patients did not show signs of infection,fever,inflammation,etc.
