Abstract： Objective： To observe the curative effect of Yiqi Guben Prescription combined with point application for immune thrombocytopenic purpura （ITP) of depletion of spleen-qi type. Methods：A total of 100 ITP patients were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 50 cases in each group. Two cases were excluded from each group， and 48 cases were included in each group. The control group received treatment with recombinant human thrombopoietin combined with Dexamethasone， and the observation group received treatment with Yiqi Guben Prescription combined with point application based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated continuously for two weeks. The short-term and medium-term curative effects and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome curative effects were compared between the two groups. The changes in TCM symptom scores and blood platelet count (BPC) levels were compared before and after treatment between two groups. Results：There was no significant difference in the total effective rates of short-term and medium-term curative effects between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment， the total effective rate of TCM syndromes was 95.83% in the observation group， and 72.92% in the control group， the difference being significant (P＜0.05). After treatment， the TCM symptom scores of chronic bleeding，fatigue and lack of energy，mental fatigue and laziness，poor appetite，and postprandial bloating in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05); the above five TCM symptom scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). As the treatment time extended， the BPC levels in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment；on the fourteen，thirty，sixty，and ninety days after treatment，the BPC levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： Yiqi Guben Prescription combined with point application can improve the TCM syndrome of ITP patients of depletion of spleen-qi type and stabilize platelets.
