Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture with Zangshi Xiangtiao acupuncture method for functional constipation of qi deficiency type. Methods： A total of 80 patients with functional constipation of qi deficiency type were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 40 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture with Zangshi Xiangtiao acupuncture method， and the control group was treated with oral administration of lactulose combined with mosapril for four weeks. The symptom scores and scores of Patient Assessment of Constipation quality of life questionnaire (PAC-QOL) were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. The clinical effects and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results： After two and four weeks of treatment， the first defecation time， defecation interval， defecation speed， fecal characteristics， defecation difficulty， defecation intention， and total scores in the two groups were gradually decreased (P＜0.05)， and there was no significant difference between the two groups at the same time point (P＞0.05). After two and four weeks of treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the total effective rates between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment，the PAC-QOL scores in the two groups were decreased (P＜0.05)，and the scores of concerns，satisfaction，and total scores in PAC-QOL in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion：Acupuncture with Zangshi Xiangtiao acupuncture method is safe and effective in treating functional constipation of qi deficiency type， which can alleviate patients' concerns and improve their satisfaction with treatment and quality of life.
