Clinical Study on Warming-Needle Moxibustion Combined with Estrogen-Progesto⁃ gen Cyclic Treatment for Premature Ovarian Failure of Spleen-Kidney Yang Deficiency Type
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of warming-needle moxibustion combined with estrogen-progestogen cyclic treatment on premature ovarian failure of spleen-kidney yang deficiency type. Methods: A total of 68 cases of patients with premature ovarian failure of spleen-kidney yang deficiency type were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 34 cases in each group. Based on routine treatment, the control group was treated with estrogen-progestogen cyclic treatment (Dydrogesterone Tablets and Estradiol Valerate Tablets),and the treatment group was additionally treated with warming-needle moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 6 months. The clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. The changes in sex hormone levels [serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol (E2), and luteinizing hormone (LH)], traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, and ultrasound examination indicators were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 88.24% in the treatment group, and 67.65% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, E2 levels in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and levels of LH and FSH were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); The E2 level in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05), and the levels of LH and FSH were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the thickness of endometrium, ovarian volume, and number of sinusoidal follicles in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the values of the above three indexes in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the TCM syndrome scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 2.94% in the treatment group, and 8.82% in the control group, there being no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Warmingneedle moxibustion combined with estrogen-progestogen cyclic treatment has a definite clinical effect on premature ovarian failure of spleen-kidney yang deficiency type, which can promote ovarian recovery, and improve the levels of sex hormones and ovarian reserve function, with high safety.
