Effect of Leng'e Xiaoji Decoction Combined with Antibiotics on Chronic Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and Its Influence on Inflammatory Factors and Recurrence Rate
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Leng'e Xiaoji Decoction combined with antibiotics on chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and its influence on inflammatory factors and recurrence rate. Methods: A total of 110 patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 55 cases in each group. The control group was conventionally given antibiotics, and the treatment group was additionally treated with Leng'e Xiaoji Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects, incidence of adverse reactions, recurrence rates in the two groups were compared. The changes of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of binding of damp-heat stasis type and inflammatory factors [interleukin-6 (IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α),C-reactive protein (CRP)] were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate was 96.36% in the treatment group, and 83.64% in the control group, the difference being significant (P< 0.05). After treatment, the scores of lower abdominal distension, abnormal amount of vaginal discharge, thick and yellow vaginal discharge, abnormal menstruation of binding of damp-heat stasis type in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above four scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of TNF-α and CRP in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the IL-6 levels were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the IL-6 level in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05),and the TNF-α and CRP levels were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the control group was 21.82%,and 5.46% in the treatment group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). The recurrence rate in the control group was 17.39%,and 1.89% in the treatment group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Leng'e Xiaoji Decoction combined with antibiotics can improve clinical symptoms, reduce inflammatory response, and reduce the recurrence rate of the disease, with great safety.
