Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Wenwei Jianpi Huoxue Decoction combined with Teprenone on atrophic gastritis complicated with helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and its effect on levels of pro-gastrin releasing peptide (ProGRP) and carbohydrate antigen 242 (CA242) in serum. Methods：A total of 110 patients with atrophic gastritis complicated with Hp infection were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number drawing method， with 55 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Teprenone， and the treatment group was treated with Wenwei Jianpi Huoxue Decoction combined with Teprenone. Both groups were treated for 2 months. The clinical effects， Hp clearance rate，and 1-month follow-up Hp recurrence rates were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment， the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores， and levels of ProGRP， CA242， motilin， and gastrin in serum were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate and Hp clearance rate were 94.55% and 90.91% respectively in the treatment group， which were higher than those of 81.82% and 74.55% in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the TCM syndrome scores (distention and fullness in the stomach cavity， fatigue and lack of strength， cold limbs， and thin and unformed stool) and the levels of serum ProGRP and CA242 were lower than those before treatment (P＜0.05)； the levels of motilin and gastrin in the two groups were higher than those before treatment (P＜0.05). After treatment， the TCM syndrome scores and the levels of serum ProGRP and CA242 were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05)； the levels of motilin and gastrin were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After one month of follow-up after treatment， the Hp recurrence rate was 20.00% in the treatment group， lower than that of 56.10% in the control group (P＜ 0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 10.91% in the treatment group， and 5.45% in the control group， there being no significance in the difference (P＞0.05). Conclusion： The combination of Wenwei Jianpi Huoxue Decoction and Teprenone has a definite curative effect on atrophic gastritis with Hp infection. It can improve the patient's gastric function， reduce levels of ProGRP and CA242 in serum， reduce Hp recurrence，and has high safety.
