Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of San'ao Tablets combined with western medicine on acute bronchitis with syndrome of wind-cold attacking the lung. Methods:A total of 110 cases of patients with acute bronchitis with syndrome of wind-cold attacking the lung were selected and divided into the San'ao Tablets group and the control group according to random number table method, with 55 cases in each group. One case was excluded from the control group, and eventually 54 cases were included in it. The control group was treated with Ceftriaxone for Injection and Compound Forcodine Oral Solution, and the San'ao Tablets group was additionally treated with San'ao Tablets based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 7 days. The clinical effects, disappearance time of cough and expectoration, white blood cell count, neutrophil percentage, erythrocyte sedimentation rates, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate was 98.18% in the San'ao Tablets group, higher than that of 85.19% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). The disappearance time of cough and expectoration in the San'ao Tablets group were shorter than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment , the white blood cell count , neutrophil percentage , and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) levels in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the white blood cell count, neutrophil percentage, and ESR level in the San'ao Tablets group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). During treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was 3.64% in the San'ao Tablets group, compared with that of 5.56% in the control group, there was no significant in the difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of San'ao Tablets combined with western medicine has a significant therapeutic effect on acute bronchitis with syndrome of wind-cold attacking the lung, which can effectively relieve clinical symptoms, inhibit the body inflammatory responses, and has great safety.
