Clinical Study on Shenmai Injection Assisting Western Medicine for Ischemic Stroke with Deficiency of Both Qi and Yin Syndrome During Convalescence Phase
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Shenmai Injection assisting western medicine for ischemic stroke with deficiency of both qi and yin syndrome during the convalescence phase. Methods:A total of 90 cases of patients with ischemic stroke with deficiency of both qi and yin syndrome during the convalescence phase were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was given symptomatic treatment with western medicine like Aspirin Enteric-Coated Tablets, Citicoline Injection, Mecobalamine Tablets, etc.,and the treatment group was additionally treated with Shenmai injection based on the treatment of the control group. After 4 weeks of treatment, clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome (TCM) scores, National Institutes of Health Neurological Impairment Score (NIHSS), Fugel-Meyer Assessment (FMA) of limb motor function and levels of serum inflammatory factors [interleukin-1β (IL-1β),interleukin- 6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α)] were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 95.56% in the treatment group and 82.22% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment,TCM syndrome scores and NIHSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the above two scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the FMA scores of upper and lower limbs in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the FMA scores of upper and lower limbs in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above indexes in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Shenmai Injection assisting western medicine for patients with ischemic stroke with deficiency of both qi and yin syndrome during the convalescence phase has a significant curative effect, which can effectively reduce inflammatory responses, relieve clinical symptoms, improve neurological function and limb motor function.
