Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of the therapy of auricular point seed-pressing combined with point application on infantile diarrhea. Methods: A total of 90 cases with infantile diarrhea were selected as the study subjects and divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment and oral administration of Montmorillonite Powder, and the study group was additionally treated with auricular point seed-pressing and point application based on the treatment of the control group. The two groups were treated for seven days. The clinical effects, incidence of adverse reactions and the improvement of primary and clinical symptoms were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 95.56% in the study group, higher than that of 82.22% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the times of defecation and Bristol stool form scale (BSFS) scores in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the times of defecation and BSFS score in the study group were less or lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The time for correcting dehydration, onset time of arresting diarrhea, recovery time of stool characters and time of normal food intake in the study group were respectively shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no serious adverse reaction in the two groups. Conclusion:The therapy of auricular point seed-pressing combined with point application can shorten the course of treatment of infantile diarrhea and significantly improve the symptoms of patients with great safety.
