Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of External Washing No. 1 Prescription on treating patients after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair of shoulder. Methods：A total of 82 patients after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair of shoulder were selected as the study objects，and were divided into the trial group and the control group according to random number table method， with 41 cases in each group. The control group was given fumigation with warm water after operation， and the trial group was given External Washing No. 1 Prescription after operation. Both groups were followed up for 3 months. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)， shoulder range of motion and Constant-Murley score of shoulder function were compared between the two groups before operation， six weeks after operation and three months after operation. Results： Six weeks after operation and three months after operation， the VAS scores in the two groups were decreased gradually (P＜0.05)；3 months after operation，the VAS score in the trial group was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05). Abduction， internal rotation， external rotation and Constant- Murley scores of shoulder function in the two groups were gradually increased 6 weeks after operation and 3 months after operation (P＜0.05)； 3 months after operation， abduction， internal rotation， external rotation and Constant-Murley score of shoulder function in the trial group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： External Washing No. 1 Prescription can relieve pain symptoms and improve shoulder motion and function of patients after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair of shoulder.
