Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of modified Tianma Gouteng Decoction on children with tic disorders of liver hyperactivity with stirring wind type. Methods： A total of 62 children with tic disorders of liver hyperactivity with stirring wind type were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method， with 31 cases in each group. The control group was given health education，auricular point seed-pressing and Tiapride Hydrochloride Tablets for treatment，and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Tianma Gouteng Decotion based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated； the changes in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores and scores of Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS) were compared before and after treatment between the two groups； the incidence of adverse reactions was observed. Results： The total effective rate was 93.55% in the observation group， higher than that of 77.42% in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the TCM syndrome scores and YGTSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 9.68% in the observation group and 12.90% in the control group，there being no significance in the difference (P＞0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of modified Tianma Gouteng Decoction can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of children with tic disorders of liver hyperactivity with stirring wind type，and enhance the clinical effect with good safety.
