Experience of HUANG Ping in Treating Hoarseness After Thyroid Cancer Surgery from Spleen and Lung-Root and Branch Based on Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment
Abstract: This paper introduces Professor HUANG Ping's clinical experience in treating hoarseness after thyroid cancer surgery from the spleen and lung-the root and branch based on syndrome differentiation and treatment. Hoarseness is a common complication after thyroid cancer surgery. Professor HUANG Ping believes that the throat is closely related to the spleen (stomach) and the lung based on the relationship between the manifestation of zang organs and channels and collaterals, which is the theoretical basis for treating hoarseness after thyroid cancer surgery from the spleen and lung based on syndrome differentiation and treatment. Sthenia caused by goiter before surgery, channels injury and bleeding caused by incision and suture during surgery, radionuclide radiotherapy after surgery, and improper care can all cause consumption of qi,blood and body fluids. The treatment of hoarseness after thyroid cancer surgery can start from the viscera of the voices under the treatment principle of spleen and lung as the core, hoarseness as the branch, and deficient healthy qi and lingering pathogenic qi as the root; syndrome differentiation and treatment should be carried out based on Buzhong Yiqi Decoction and Maimendong Decoction. In this way, significant therapeutic effect can be achieved.
