Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Xiaofeng Xuanqiao Decoction combined with Loratadine Tablets for allergic rhinitis. Methods：A total of 102 cases of patients with allergic rhinitis were selected as the research objects，and divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 51 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Loratadine Tablets，and the treatment group was treated with Xiaofeng Xuanqiao Decoction combined with Loratadine Tablets. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores and the levels of immunoglobulin E (IgE) and inflammatory factors in serum were compared before and after treatment between the two groups；clinical effects and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 96.08% in the treatment group， higher than that of 82.35% in the control group (P＜ 0.05). After treatment， the scores of TCM syndrome， such as nasal congestion， viscous and purulent nasal discharge， head and facial distension， and hyposmia or anosphrasia in the two groups were decreased (P＜0.05)， and the above scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of IgE， interleukin- 4 (IL- 4)， interleukin- 6 (IL- 6) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) in the two groups were decreased (P＜0.05)，and the above levels in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion： Xiaofeng Xuanqiao Decoction combined with Loratadine Tablets for patients with allergic rhinitis can enhance the clinical effect， improve rhinitis symptoms and immune function， and reduce inflammatory factors，without increasing adverse reactions.
