Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Qinggan Lidan Decoction assisting western medicine on acute cholecystitis with liver-gallbladder damp-heat syndrome. Methods:A total of 96 cases of patients with acute cholecystitis with liver-gallbladder damp-heat syndrome were divided into the trial group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the trial group was additionally treated with modified Qinggan Lidan Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 7 days. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores and the levels of inflammation indexes [white blood cell count (WBC),C-reactive protein (CRP),and tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF-α)] before and after treatment,as well as the clinical effects and the time for elminating the clinical symptoms were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 91.67% in the trial group, higher than that of 75.00% in the control group (P<0.05). The disappearance time of fever, right upper abdominal pain, abdominal tenderness and gastrointestinal symptoms was shorter than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, TCM syndrome scores and the levels of WBC, CRP and TNF- α in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and TCM syndrome scores and inflammation indexes in the trial group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified Qinggan Lidan Decoction assisting western medicine for acute cholecystitis with liver-gallbladder damp-heat syndrome has a significant effect, which can accelerate the recovery and reduce inflammatory responses.
