Abstract：Objective：To study the clinical effect and safety of acupuncture combined with fire dragon moxibustion for premature ovarian failure of kidney deficiency type. Methods：A total of 30 cases of patients with premature ovarian failure of kidney deficiency type were selected by the prospective randomized controlled method，and were divided into two groups according to the random number table method，with 15 cases in each group. The western medicine group was treated with western medicine of artificial cycle therapy， and the acupuncture- fire dragon moxibustion group was additionally treated with acupuncture combined with fire dragon moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were continuously treated for 3 months and followed up for 10 months. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptom scores， the scores of self- diagnostic assessment of climacteric syndrome (Kupperman) and menstrual status ， and serum hormone levels were compared between the two groups before treatment and 10 months after treatment. The incidence of adverse reactions was counted in the two groups. Results： After 10 months of treatment， the TCM symptom scores， Kupperman scores， menstrual status scores，and the levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in the two groups were lower than those before treatment， and the levels of estradiol (E2) and antimullerian hormone (AMH) were higher than those before treatment； the TCM symptom scores， Kupperman scores，menstrual status scores，and the levels of FSH and LH in the acupuncture-fire dragon moxibustion group were lower than those in the western medicine group，and the levels of E2 and AMH in the acupuncture- fire dragon moxibustion group were higher than those in the western medicine group； differences were significant (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion： Acupuncture combined with fire dragon moxibustion can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of premature ovarian failure of kidney deficiency type and regulate serum hormone levels，with high safety.
