Abstract:Objective:To observe the effects of Shengru Prescription on lactation quality and levels of serum prolactin (PRL) and estradiol (E2) in postpartum patients with lactation deficiency. Methods:A total of 102 postpartum patients with lactation deficiency were selected as the research objects and divided into the rehabilitation group and the Chinese medicine group by random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. The rehabilitation group was given breast massage and low- frequency pulse electrical stimulation for treatment, and the Chinese medicine group was additionally combined with oral administration of Shengru Prescription based on the treatment of the rehabilitation group. The clinical effects, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, lactation quality and hormone levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 96.08% in the Chinese medicine group, higher than that of 84.31% in the rehabilitation group (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores, such as few lactation, soft breast, pale facial complexion, mind fatigue and poor appetite were all decreased in the two groups (P<0.05),and the above scores in the Chinese medicine group were lower than those in the rehabilitation group (P<0.05). After treatment, lactation volume, breast fullness and galactostasis scores in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the above indexes in the Chinese medicine group were lower than those in the rehabilitation group (P< 0.05). After treatment, the serum PRL levels in the two groups were increased (P<0.05),and the serum PRL level in the Chinese medicine group was higher than that in the rehabilitation group (P<0.05); the serum E2 levels in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the serum E2 level in the Chinese medicine group was lower than that in the rehabilitation group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Based on the theory of simultaneous treatment of qi and blood, the application of Shengru Prescription for postpartum hypogalactia can improve the quality of lactation and clinical symptoms in patients, regulate hormone levels, and enhance clinical effects.
