Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Guizhi Fuling Capsules assisting western medicine on chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (CPID). Methods: A total of 90 cases of CPID patients were divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Tinidazole Tablets and Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Capsules, and the study group was additionally treated with Guizhi Fuling Capsules based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, pelvic hemodynamics [pulsatile index (PI), resistance index (RI), peak systolic blood flow velocity (PSV), and maximum blood flow velocity (Vmax)], and levels of inflammatory factors [interleukin- 10 (IL-10),procalcitonin (PCT),and hypersensitive C-protein response (hs-CRP)] were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:The total effective rate was 91.11% in the study group, higher than that of 75.56% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, each TCM syndrome score in the two groups was decreased when compared with that before treatment (P<0.05), and the scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P< 0.05). After treatment, the levels of pelvic PI and RI in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); the levels of pelvic PSV and Vmax in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, serum IL-10 levels in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the level in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); the levels of PCT and hs- CRP in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Guizhi Fuling Capsules assisting western medicine for patients with CPID can further enhance curative effects, relieve clinical symptoms, improve pelvic hemodynamics, and reduce inflammatory reactions.
