Abstract: This paper is to explore the feasibility of acupuncture and moxibustion for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) from the perspective of intestinal flora by searching the literature on the relationship between intestinal flora and PCOS, and on the mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion in regulating intestinal flora from 2012 to 2023. The results showed that there was intestinal flora imbalance in PCOS patients, which could cause chronic low-grade inflammation responses, and further affect the balance of glucose and lipid metabolism and the level of androgen in the body. Acupuncture and moxibustion may adjust the structure of intestinal flora and recover the intestinal function of PCOS patients by decreasing the levels of inflammatory factors, and improve the clinical symptoms through bacteria-gut-brain axis.
