Objective:To observe the clinical effect of sachet-therapy combined with point application for allergic rhinitis in children. Methods: A total of 70 cases of children with allergic rhinitis were selected and divided into the trial group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. In each group, 4 children were dropped out, and 31 children were ultimately included in each group. The control group received point application on the dog days, and the trial group received sachet-therapy based on the treatment of the control group. The treatment started from the first of the three 10-day periods of the dog days, and was given once every 10 days. Four treatments were considered a course of treatment. After one course of treatment, the curative effects in the two groups were observed. The changes in symptom scores in the two groups were compared before treatment, after the end of one course of treatment, and at follow-up 6 months after the end of one course of treatment. The clinical effects and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment and during follow-up, the scores of nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, nasal itching, and the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the nasal congestion score in the trial group after treatment was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the remaining symptom scores and total scores between the two groups after treatment (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in symptom scores and total scores between the two groups before treatment and during follow-up (P>0.05). The total clinical effective rate was 87.1% in the trial group, and 77.4% in the control group, there being no significance in the difference between the two groups (P>0.05). During the treatment period, 3 cases of skin erythema and itching occurred in the two groups. There was no obvious discomfort when wearing Chinese nerbal sachets and both groups were able to alleviate their symptoms by shortening the application time. Conclusion:The treatment of sachet-therapy combined with point application can effectively improve the symptoms of nasal congestion in children with allergic rhinitis, and have high safety.
