Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture at Baliao points combined with long snake moxibustion at du mai for neurogenic bladder after spinal cord injury. Methods:A total of 92 patients with neurogenic bladder after spinal cord injury were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 46 cases in each group. The control group received routine rehabilitation treatment, and the observation group received electroacupuncture at Baliao points combined with long snake moxibustion at du mai based on the treatment of the control group. After 8 consecutive weeks of treatment, the clinical effects, urination function, urodynamic indicators, and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 91.30% in the observation group, higher than that of 76.09% in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the daily average single urination volume in the two groups was increased when compared with that before treatment, and the one in the observation group was more than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the numbers of 24-hour urination and 24-hour urinary incontinence in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the numbers in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the residual urine volume and bladder pressure during filling period in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the maximum bladder volume and maximum urine flow rates in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, and the ones in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the Qualiveen scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Electroacupuncture at Baliao points combined with long snake moxibustion at du mai for neurogenic bladder after spinal cord injury can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms, and improve urination function and quality of life.
