Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Jintiange Capsules combined with Glucosamine on knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods： A total of 100 patients with KOA were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group，with 50 patients in each group. The control group was treated with Glucosamine， and the treatment group was treated with Jintiange Capsules combined with Glucosamine. After 12 weeks of treatment， the adverse reactions and clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment， the scores of Lysholm knee function rating scale (Lysholm)，walking ability，and inflammatory factors，including interleukin- 1β (IL- 1β) and transforming growth factor- β1 (TGF- β1)， were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the total effective rate was 86.00% in the treatment group and 64.00% in the control group， the difference being significant (P＜0.05). After 12 weeks of treatment， the Lysholm scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment and those after 6 weeks of treatment (P＜0.05)， and the Lysholm score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group at the same time point (P＜0.05). After treatment，the step frequency，step speed and step length in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the doubble supported phase was decreased when compared with that before treatment (P＜0.05)； the step length in the treatment group was longer than that in the control group (P＜0.05)， but the step frequency， step speed and doubble supported phase were not significantly different between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment， the IL- 1β levels in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the TGF-β1 levels were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)；the IL-1β level in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05)，and the TGF-β1 level was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05). In the course of treatment， no serious adverse reactions occurred in both groups. Conclusion：The therapy of Jintiange Capsules combined with Glucosamine has a significant therapeutic effect on KOA patients，which can significantly improve the knee joint function and walking ability，and reduce the body inflammatory responses，with a safe and reliable effect.
