Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Zuogui Pills combined with Cangfu Daotan Decoction for infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with phlegm- damp obstruction syndrome. Methods： A total of 96 cases of patients with infertility caused by PCOS with phlegm- damp obstruction syndrome were divided into the control group and the combination group according to the random number table method， with 48 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment， and the combination group was additionally treated with modified Zuogui Pills combined with Cangfu Daotan Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptom scores and levels of sex hormones in serum were compared before and after treatment between the two groups， and the clinical effects and pregnancy rates were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the scores of main and secondary symptoms and the total TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased (P＜0.05)，and the above scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 95.83% in the combination group，higher than that of 79.17% in the control group (P＜0.05). The natural pregnancy rate was 45.83% in the combination group， higher than that of 25.00% in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of estradiol (E2)，follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and progesterone (P) were increased (P＜0.05)， and the levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) was decreased (P＜0.05)； the levels of E2， FSH and P in the combination group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05)，and the levels of LH was lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion：Zuogui Pills combined with Cangfu Daotan Decoction for infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with phlegm- damp obstruction syndrome can improve clinical symptoms，regulate the levels of sex hormones and increase the spontaneous pregnancy rate.
