Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Qingre Jiedu Decoction combined with valaciclovir on recurrent genital herpes (RGH). Methods：A total of 84 RGH patients were selected and divided into two groups according to random number table method，with 44 cases in the treatment group and 40 cases in the control group. The control group was treated with Valaciclovir，and the treatment group was treated with Qingre Jiedu Decoction combined with Valaciclovir. Both groups were treated for 10 days. The clinical effects， herpes healing time and recurrence rates in the two groups were observed. The changes of genital herpes symptom scores and immune function were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results：After treatment，the genital herpes symptom scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the genital herpes symptom scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 93.18% in the treatment group and 77.50% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜ 0.05). After treatment， the time of herpes stopping growth， scab time and scab removal time in the treatment group were earlier than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of CD3+， CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the levels of CD8 + were decreased when compared with those before treatment， difference being significant (P＜0.05)；the levels of CD3 +，CD4 + and CD4 +/CD8 + in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05)，and the CD8+ level was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05). The recurrence rate was 4.88% in the treatment group and 22.58% in the control group， the difference being significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Qingre Jiedu Decoction combined with Valaciclovir has a significant therapeutic effect on RGH，which can relieve clinical symptoms，promote the healing of herpes，improve immunity and reduce the recurrence rate.
