Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of thumb- tack needle for subcutaneous embedding on pain and anxiety in patients after induced abortion. Methods:A total of 84 patients with induced abortion were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group by random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing after surgery, and the observation group was additionally given thumb-tack needle for subcutaneous embedding on the basis of the control group. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score,Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) score, heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were compared between the two groups. Results : At 48 hours after surgery , the VAS scores in both groups were reduced when compared with those at 4 hours after surgery, and the VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group , differences being significant (P<0.05). At 4 hours and 48 hours after surgery, the SAS scores in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before surgery, differences being significant (P<0.05). At 4 hours after surgery, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the SAS scores between the two groups (P>0.05). At 48 hours after surgery, the SAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, difference being significant (P<0.05). At 48 hours after surgery,HR,SBP and DBP in both groups were increased when compared with those at 4 hours after surgery, and HR,SBP and DBP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:Thumb- tack needle for subcutaneous embedding can relieve the pain and anxiety of patients after induced abortion, and it is beneficial to stabilizing the vital signs.
