Abstract： Objective： To discuss the medication rules of Professor CHEN Wei treating primary headache in Lingnan area based on data mining. Methods： The medical history of patients with primary headache in Lingnan area receiving treatment in the clinic of Professor CHEN from January 2016 to December 2021 was collected. The medicine frequency was summed up and the association rules and core combination among Chinese medicines were analyzed by the data mining methods on Chinese Medicine Inheritance Assistance Platform System (V3.0)，including frequency analysis，association rule analysis and cluster analysis. Results：A total of 200 prescriptions were included and 152 Chinese medicinals involved. Among them，the Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma，Angelicae Dahuricae Radix，Puerariae Lobatae Radix， Bupleuri Radix，Codonopsis Radix，Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix，Paeoniae Radix Alba，Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium，Poria and Alismatis Rhizoma were used more frequently. The main nature of above Chinese medicinals is warm，followed by mild and cold，and the main flavor is sweet，followed by acrid and bitter. With wide channel entries involving twelve meridians， the top 5 in frequency are lung meridian， spleen meridian， stomach meridian， liver meridian and heart meridian. The commonly- used combinations are Liquiritiae Radix- Angelicae Dahuricae， Liquiritiae Radix- Paeoniae Radix Alba， Puerariae Lobatae Radix- Bupleuri Radix， Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium- Alismatis Rhizoma， Angelicae Dahuricae Radix- Paeoniae Radix Alba，Bupleuri Radix- Poria，and Bupleuri Radix- Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma. Three types of cluster core combinations of formula， including“Codonopsis Radix， Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix， Alismatis Rhizoma，Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma”“Angelicae Dahuricae Radix， Poria， Puerariae Lobatae Radix， Paeoniae Radix Alba and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma”and “Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma，Chuanxiong Rhizoma，Viticis Fructus，Angelicae Dahuricae Radix and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma”. Conclusion： Professor CHEN mainly used three methods of “warming，supplementing and harmonizing” to treat primary headache in Lingnan area，and the academic thought of “reinforcing the healthy qi to guard against pathogens， and harmonizing yin and yang” is throughout the whole treatment.
