Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of external fixators combined with Bushen Zhuangu Prescription for unstable distal radius fractures. Methods：A total of 60 cases of patients with unstable distal radius fractures were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with open reduction and internal fixation with steel plate，and the treatment group was treated with external fixators combined with Bushen Zhuangu Prescription. Clinical effects，operation duration，and the healing time of fractures were compared between the two groups. Distal radius height and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results： The excellent and good rate was 90.00% in the treatment group，higher than that of 83.33% in the control group (P＜0.05). The distal radius heights after treatment for 1 day，4 weeks，8 weeks，and 3 months in the two groups were higher than that before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the distal radius heights after treatment for 8 weeks and 3 months in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were lower than those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05). Operation duration and the healing time of fractures in the treatment group were shorter than those in the control group (P＜ 0.05). Conclusion： External fixators combined with Bushen Zhuangu Prescription has a definite curative effect in the treatment of unstable distal radius fractures and can improve the function of wrist joints and shorten the healing time of fractures.
