Abstract： Objective： To study the medication rules of six channels of WU Fanwei in treating cough through the real world study. Methods：Based on Hospital Information System (HIS)，the medication rules of Professor WU Fanwei in treating cough was explored through statistical analysis， frequency analysis， association rule analysis and cluster analysis. Results： A total of 448 patients with cough were included. The distribution of six channels was： taiyin syndrome with 168 cases (37.50% )， taiyang syndrome with 158 cases (35.27% )， shaoyang syndrome with 64 cases (14.29% )， yangming syndrome in 43 cases (9.60%) ， shaoyin syndrome with 11 cases (2.45%) and jueyin syndrome with 4 cases (0.89%). The five flavors of medicinals for cough were pungent， sweet and bitter. The medicinal properties for cough were mainly warm， supplemented by mild and cold.The main channel entries were lung， spleen and stomach meridians. Through the analysis of association rules， 62 strong association rules were obtained. Through cluster analysis，12 core prescriptions were obtained. The common prescriptions for taiyang cough were Guizhi Plus Houpu Xingzi Decoction， Xiaoqinglong Decoction， Jingfangbaidu Powder， Yinqiao Powder，Zhisu Powder，Linggui Zhugan Decoction. The common prescription for cough in yangming were Maimendong Decoction and Maidong Zhishi Ziwan Gancao Decoction. The common prescription of shaoyang cough is Xiaochaihu Decoction and Sini Powder with Zingiberis Rhizoma， Asari Radix et Rhizoma， Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus ， Pinelliae Rhizoma combination. The common prescription of taiyin cough is Linggan Wuwei Jiangxinxia Decoction.The common prescriptions for shaoyin cough were Sini Decoction，Fuling Sini Decoction，Mahuang Fuzi Xixin Decoction and Danggui Sini Decoction. The common prescriptions for jueyin cough were Wumei Pills and Sini Decoction. Conclusion： WU Fanwei's cough treatment should follow the principle of "six channels theory determines prescription + selecting medicinals according to symptoms + Lingnan characteristic medicine"， and use the medicines of warming lung to dissipate cold， releasing lung and relieving cough， eliminating dampness and strengthening the middle energizer.
