Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of arrayed needling of scalp acupuncture combined with orthokeratoscope on low to moderate myopia in adolescents. Methods：A total of 114 cases (228 eyes) of adolescents with low to moderate myopia were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method，with 57 cases (114 eyes) in each group. The control group was treated with orthokeratoscope，and the observation group was treated with arrayed needling of scalp acupuncture combined with orthokeratoscope. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The clinical effects，naked eye distant vision，diopter and vision-related quality of life scores in the two groups were compared， and the incidence of adverse reactions were recorded. Results： After treatment， the total clinical effective rate was 92.98% in the observation group， higher than that of 83.33% in the control group (P＜0.05). The naked eye distant vision and diopter in both groups were improved when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the naked eye distant vision and diopter in the the observation group were better than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The scores of National Eye Institute Visual Functioning Questionnaire- 25 (NEI- VFQ- 25) in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the scores of the Refractive Status and Vision Profile (RSVP) in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05). The score of NEI-VFQ-25 in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05)，and the score of RSVP in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 4.39% in the observation group and 7.89% in the control group， there being no significant differences (P＞0.05). Conclusion： The additional application of arrayed needling of scalp acupuncture based on orthokeratoscope for low to moderate myopia in adolescents， can promote visual recovery of patients and improve their quality of life，with great safety.
