Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Chaigui Decoction combined with recombinant human interferon α-2a suppository for cervical high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) infection and its effect on serum inflammatory factors. Methods: A total of 80 cases of patients with cervical HR- HPV infection were selected and divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with vaginal application with recombinant human interferon α-2a suppository, and the study group was additionally given the oral administration of Chaigui Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three menstrual cycles. The clinical effects, the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome score, the negative conversion rate of HR- HPV,the disappearance rate of inflammation and infection, the levels of serum inflammatory factors [tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α), hypersensitive C- reactive protein (hs- CRP),interleukin-4 (IL-4),interleukin-12 (IL-12)],and the medication safety were compared. Results: The total effective rate was 95.00% in the study group and 75.00% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the negative conversion rate of HR- HPV and the disappearance rate of inflammation and infection was 82.50% and 97.50% respectively in the study group, and 62.50% and 77.50% respectively in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores including leucorrhea volume, leucorrhea color, leucorrhea texture feeling, leucorrhea smell, contact bleeding, falling sensation of waist and abdomen, painful urination, vaginal itch, and bitter taste and dry throat in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of TNF-α,hs-CRP,and IL-4 in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and IL-12 levels were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the levels of TNF- α,hs- CRP,and IL- 4 in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05),and the IL-12 level was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). During treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was 5.00% in the study group and 10.00% in the control group, there being no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion:Chaigui Decoction combined with recombinant human interferon α- 2a suppository for cervical HR- HPV infection can improve the clinical effect and effectively inhibit the inflammatory responses, improve the body's immune function and the TCM syndrome, with relatively fewer adverse reactions.
