Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Ganlu Xiaodu Micropills on EB virus infection in children and its effect on T- lymphocyte subset levels. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 65 children infected with EB virus. The children were divided into the control group and the observation group according to different treatment methods, with 34 and 31 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with Aciclovir Injection based on symptomatic treatment, and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Ganlu Xiaodu Micropills based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores,T-lymphocyte subset levels, and safety were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 93.55% in the observation group and 73.53% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the TCM syndrome scores of hyperthermia, sore throat, weakness and heaviness of limbs, and chest oppression and abdominal distension between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the above TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and each score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of T- lymphocyte subsets (CD3 + , CD4 + , and CD8 + ) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of CD3 + and CD8 + in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of CD4 + were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the levels of CD3 + and CD8 + in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05),and the level of CD4+ in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, no impairment of kidney function happened in the two groups. Conclusion:Modified Ganlu Xiaodu Micropills for children with acute EB virus infection can enhance clinical effects and effectively improve clinical symptoms and immune function, with good safety.
