Abstract： By searching China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI)，Wanfang Database，China Science and Technology Journal Database and PubMed Database， the relevant research literature at home and abroad in the recent years were analyzed. It is found that acupuncture，as a routine method for the clinical treatment of ischemic stroke，has clear therapeutic effect，but its mechanism is not completely clear. Effective reduction of inflammatory response is an important link of acupuncture to reduce the injury of cerebral ischemic nerve function. At present， the literature discuss that the related mechanism of acupuncture alleviating the inflammatory response of ischemic brain injury involves glial cells，cytokines， cell adhesion molecules， inflammatory signal transduction pathway and so on. It can be seen that acupuncture plays a role in the treatment of ischemic stroke from multi-targets and multi-levels. If we want to study its mechanism thoroughly，we need to explore it more deeply.
