Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of catgut embedment in points combined with Heye Jiangzhi Decoction for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in obese patients. Methods:A total of 110 cases of obese patients with T2DM were selected as the study objects and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,with 55 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine treatment and Heye Jiangzhi Decoction, and the observation group was additionally treated with catgut embedment in abdominal points based on the treatment of the control group. The levels of body mass index (BMI),obesity (A),body fat percentage (F),blood glucose indexes and lipid metabolism indexes were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: Before treatment,there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of new satiety molecular protein 1 (nesfatin- 1), and adipokine (apelin) between the two groups (P>0.05); after treatment,the levels of nesfatin- 1 and apelin in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05),and the two levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of BMI,A,and F between the two groups (P>0.05);after treatment,the levels of BMI,A,and F in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P< 0.05). Before treatment,there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low- density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL- C) and high- density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment,the levels of TC,TG, and LDL- C in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05);the levels of HDL-C were increased (P<0.05),and the level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG), 2- hour postprandial blood glucose (P2hBG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) between the two groups (P>0.05); after treatment, the levels of FBG, P2hBG, and HbA1c in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:For obese patients with T2DM,catgut embedment in points combined with Heye Jiangzhi Decoction can effectively improve the obesity symptom, regulate the glucose and lipid metabolism in the body,and reduce the levels of nesfatin-1 and apelin.
