Abstract：Objective：To observe the effects of Shenshuaining Capsules on intestinal mucosal barrier function and microinflammatory status in patients with maintenance hemodialysis. Methods： A total of 104 cases of patients who had chronic kidney failure and underwent maintenance hemodialysis were selected as the study objects and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method， with 52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with maintenance hemodialysis，and the treatment group was additionally treated with Shenshuaining Capsules during the treatment of maintenance hemodialysis. Both groups were treated for three months. Clinical effects，kidney function，intestinal mucosal barrier function and microinflammatory status were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 94.23% in the treatment group and 78.85% in the control group，the difference being significant (P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of serum creatinine (Scr)， blood urea nitrogen (BUN)，and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment， the levels of Scr and BUN in the treatment group were decreased when compared with those in the same group before treatment and those in the control group (P＜0.05)， and the level of eGFR in the treament group were increased when compared with those in the same group before treatment and those in the control group (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of Scr，BUN，and eGFR before and after treatment in the control group (P＞0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of D-lactic acid，Endothelin (ET)， and diamine oxidase (DAO) between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment， the levels of D- lactic acid，ET，and DAO in the treatment group were lower than those in the same group before treatment and those in the control group (P＜0.05)；there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the three indexes of intestinal mucosal barrier function before and after treatment in the control group (P＞ 0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and homocysteine (Hcy) in serum between the two groups (P＞ 0.05). After treatment， the levels of hs- CRP and Hcy in the treatment group were decreased when compared with those in the same group before treatment and those in the control group (P＜0.05)；there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of hs- CRP and Hcy before and after treatment in the control group (P＞0.05). Conclusion： Shenshuaining Capsules has a significant curative effect for patients with maintenance hemodialysis， and plays a positive role in improving kidney function， protecting intestinal mucosal barrier function and alleviating the microinflammatory state of the body.
