Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of foot bath with Chinese herbal medicine combined with point massage for lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans. Methods：A total of 86 cases of patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans were divided into the control group and the trial group according to the random number table method，with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine， and the trial group was additionally treated with foot bath with Chinese herbal medicine combined with point massage based on the treatment of the control group. Symptom scores， ankle- humerus ratio， and Fugl- Meyer scores of lower limbs were compared before and after treatment between the two groups；the clinical effects and the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were evaluated. Results：The total effective rate was 74.42% in the control group，lower than that of 93.02% in the trial group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the remission time of intermittent claudication，the sensation of skin temperature， the distance of intermittent claudication， skin color， pain symptom scores，and the total scores in the two groups were shortened or decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and ankle- humerus ratio and Fugl- Meyer scores of lower limbs were increased (P＜0.05)； the remission time of intermittent claudication， the sensation of skin temperature， the distance of intermittent claudication， skin color， pain symptom scores， and the total score in trial group were shorter or lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05)， ankle- humerus ratio and Fugl- Meyer score of lower limbs were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05)；there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P＞ 0.05). Conclusion： Foot bath with Chinese herbal medicine combined with point massage has a definite curative effect in the treatment of lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans，which can enhance the anklehumerus ratio and improve lower limbs function with high safety.
